Experience of Land and Sea Safety

The owner and skipper of these vessels has many hours and years experience both in his working life and personal life as he has owned numerous boats. He has worked offshore on standby vessels and in the transitional seismic sector of the oil and gas industry as both a safety adviser and qualified paramedic. What makes Land and Sea Safety different is that the boat will be crewed by someone who is a fully qualified and a trained adviser in both health and safety who can assist you as a company carrying on site training or will be able to give advice.

We are prepared to carry out any reasonable request for assistance, weather and sea state permitting, have different types of vessel which can carry out many roles. Both crew members are PADI trained divers who are used to being in on the water the second crew member is a qualified marine engineer who also maintains the craft.

Land and water HSE adviser

I am an experienced health and safety adviser with over 15 years experience who has worked both on and off the water, my small boat work has been mainly in the oil and gas sector working as a stand by medic on rig support vessels as the HSE rep. I was part of the small boat crew and would go in for close standby offering on the water medical and safety cover and advice. I have worked alongside commercial and sports divers offering both safety and medical advice where required. I have worked on marine and transitional seismic project internationally using both out board and water jet propulsion system the vessels were either alimimimium construction of RIBs. In my spare time I love to be on under or in the water owning my own pleasure craft.

Part of my boats crew is a fully qualified marine engineer who maintains the vessels I posses. Experienced site safety adviser as a limited company I am offering my services as an experienced site Health and safety professional. I hold my NVQ level 4 qualifications in the HSE field, I have experience of carrying out Risk assessments QC Auditing of HSE systems permit control and I have given toolbox talks to site operatives. My experience is varied ranging from drilling rigs in the oil and gas sector construction industry civil's through to completions and commissioning. I am a fully qualified paramedic so can asses and treat injuries and onsite illness having set up and ran a site medical and first aid facility I have carried out first aid training manual handling and defibrillation training while working on site. I have worked for the principal contractor as well as sub contractors I have been involved in Behavioural safety programmes such DuPont's Stop and Go ConocoPhillips PUMA and other companies programmes. I have the train the trainer's qualification and am on the nursing register UK.

Oil and Gas Sector

While working in the oil and gas sector I have been involved in deep sea seismic work and drilling and platform standby duties where an ocean going vessel works with smaller craft to over close standby this is often to scaffolders working outboard of the platform, the main role is to quickly respond to any one who is unfortunate to fall overboard to retrieve them and return them to the mother vessel for treatment of any injuries or conditions which is affecting their health. When on board these vessels I often carry out first aid training and do a HSe coordination role giving both health and safety advice to crews.
